Biography

After graduating from the University of Bradford as a Registered Adult Nurse I began a clinical nursing career in Acute Medicine, later moving to Critical Care in a large teaching hospital to gain additional skills. For the last three years I have been employed as a Critical Care Outreach Sister and Resuscitation Officer, therefore I have extensive experience caring for the acutely unwell patient; attending medical emergencies and cardiac arrest situations.  I have a special interest in the care of the deteriorating adult patient, and in education and research surrounding the management of deterioration.  I have completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in clinical examination, and I am currently undertaking a Post- Graduate Certificate in Higher Education to develop my teaching. I maintain my status as an Advanced Life Support instructor through teaching on the course regularly and enjoy the opportunity to teach candidates from different clinical professions. I joined the University of Bradford in 2022 as a full- time lecturer and I enjoy sharing my experiences from practice with our students.
