Biography

Abhijit completed his BA (Honours) in economics at the University of Delhi and his MA in global political economy at the University of Hull. He also has a masters degree in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi. He worked as a lecturer in economics at the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield. He also worked as a postdoctoral research economist at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London on an ESRC and RCUK funded project involving econometric modelling of technology adoption decisions. He has previously been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Analysis, New Delhi. Research

Innovation Firm theory, including industrial restructuring Applied econometrics (especially time series) International Economics Innovation Firm theory, including industrial restructuring Applied econometrics (especially time series) International Economics Current Projects Abhijit is currently working as the principal investigator for an EU FP7 research project titled Crossing Boundaries (EUR194,500), with particular focus on innovation, technology adoption and knowledge diffusion, as well as links between intellectual property rights (IPR) and innovation. This research project has partners in Estonia, Russia, India and Portugal. He previously worked on a RELU/ ESRC funded project on Technology Adoption Decisions and Pesticide Reduction in UK Agriculture, with other researchers at Imperial College London and the University of Kent. He also worked on a project sponsored by the Food Standards Agency on the Effectiveness of the Reduced Salt Campaign, with researchers at the University of Kent. On both projects he worked on econometric modelling and estimation aspects.
