Dr. Ajay Kumar

Biography

Ajay joined the University of Bradford, in 2021 and prior tothat he had worked at other institutions of higher education in the UK, UAE andIndia. He is an academic who specialises in international economic law(taxation) and financial crimes. His research utilises both doctrinal and inter-disciplinaryperspectives to analyse the (evolving) theoretical and governance structures – practiceswithin both international tax and financial crime – to draw conclusions tobetter serve the interests of all stakeholders. Before moving into academia, hepracticed as a lawyer in India and was also attached to a boutique tax advisory inDubai. He is also a dual qualified legal practitioner, with audience to thehigher courts, both in India and England and Wales. Ajay is also the academic lead (school of law) for internationalisation (student mobility) and he also organises the annual summer school.
