Study Abroad Competition Winners

Undergraduate students from the Division of Psychology, Iulia Udrescu and Seyed Hosseini, took part in an Erasmus funded summer work placement at the University of Helsinki. Iulia and Seyed gained valuable research experience during this exchange and on their return to Bradford won several of the International Office photo and essay competition prizes for exchange students.

Undergraduate students from the Division of Psychology, Iulia Udrescu and Seyed Hosseini, took part in an Erasmus funded summer work placement at the University of Helsinki. This is organised by the International Office in conjunction with Dr John McAlaney of the Division of Psychology and enables students to gain practical research experience. Seyed worked on a neuropsychology project whilst Iulia assisted with research into educational psychology. As a result of this Iulia was named as a co-author on a talk delivered at the European Conference on Educational Research which was held in Cadiz, Spain in September. Both students were recipients of the photo and essay competition prizes ran by the International Office. After delivering a presentation about their experiences in Helsinki at the Study Abroad Fair in October they were presented with their prize certificates by Professor Udi Archibong, Head of the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity within the School of Health Studies. The Division will be continuing to develop this exchange relationship and several students from the University of Helsinki are expected to spend the summer of 2013 undertaking similar work placements at Bradford.
