Peace Studies 40th Anniversary Colloquium in collaboration with Hiroshima Peacebuilders Center for the 2014 Program for Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding

Peace Studies at the University of Bradford is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2014. To mark the occasion we are hosting a colloquium in Tokyo together with the Hiroshima Peacebuilders Center. The colloquium will reflect on the experience of teaching and research in peace studies over the last 40 years and the efforts of peace-building and reconciliation in conflicts. It will do so in particular reflecting on the contribution of Japan and will look forward to peacebuilding in the 21st Century and human resource development in peace studies. There will be key presentations by leading scholars from the University of Bradford as well as Japanese scholars including alumni of the division of peace studies at the University of Bradford. This is a unique occasion to reflect on the challenges of international security and the commitment to peace activism in the light of 40 years experience. All interested persons are welcome to attend the conference. Registration is free but required.
