Selection process:
Stage 1: All applications will go through the Faculty’s standard PhD application review process. Candidates who have successfully secured a position on the PhD programme and are eligible to be considered for a Scholarship will be notified by the PhD office.
Stage 2: The applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by a selection panel appointed by the Research and Knowledge Transfer Committee (RKTC) and including representatives from all Divisions in the Faculty. The aim will be to select one PhD candidate for each Division (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and Criminal Justice, Peace Studies and International Development). However, in cases where applications in one area are deemed not to meet the selection criteria, scholarships may be distributed to other Divisions as judged appropriate by the selection committee.
Stage 3: The candidates are informed about the outcome by the PhD office.
