Award winning CVC project student to begin PhD at University of Manchester
First-class honours graduate, Matiss Ozols, who completed his final year research project in the Centre for Visual Computing, has been accepted on a full PhD scholarship at the University of Manchester to study Biomedical Engineering.
Mattis worked with Prof. Rami Qahwaji and Dr. Mhd Saeed Sharif at the University of Bradford, in collaboration with the Advanced Digital Institute (www.adi-uk.com), to develop novel methods for analysing EEG and ECG data from wearable sensors (more details can be found at the project web page) . The project was awarded the prize for Best Project within the Medical Engineering discipline at Bradford, and Matiss also won the prize for best project presentation and the Best Student Prize in Medical Engineering, awarded by the Institution of Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
