Module code: SAC4027-B
Increasingly, young people are being caught up in the criminal justice system, either as a perpetrator, victim, or witness of crime. The complexities around crime increase the likelihood of those under the age of 18 seamlessly moving between being a victim of crime, as well as the perpetrator of crime. Alongside this, the rise of the internet and social media exposes young people to new and emerging criminal opportunities, making it harder for the police and criminal justice system to prevent engagement to risky situations. This module will explore crime through the lens of children and young people, with a focus on how crime influences identity and future opportunities. This module is part of three modules that explain the context in which crime occurs in a city like Bradford. It is designed to provide the context for the study of the criminal justice system and specific forms of crime in years 2 and 3. Download the PDF for SAC4027-B_2025_6.pdf
