In this module you will consider how counselling skills are applied in real world situations.You will learn about the legal and ethical constraints that surround counselling practice and apply this learning to practical counselling dilemma.You will study specific common life experiences and conditions and how they impact on client presentation and inform counsellor response, applying this learning to practical counselling dilemmas.You will study the social context in which counselling is practiced, focusing particularly on how power differentials impact on relationship and how diversity impacts on counselling practice and client experience.These experiences will build on your learning from PSY4001-B Introduction to Counselling, further equipping you to apply counselling skills in real world situations.
