Module code: CPE7010-D
This level 7 module builds on knowledge acquired in all previous level 4, 5, and 6 core process engineering modules to provide students with insight into the impact of research activities, in particular of chemical and manufacturing processes with a high focus on sustainability. Specifically, it will be applied to run an independent research and employ current scientific understanding of a subject to solve a substantial research problem; and be able to write a formal, academic dissertation reporting the results of an advanced scientific investigation; write a lengthy piece of research-based analysis and discussion, and present in line with scholarly expectations about standards of accuracy, style, and documentation; whilst engaging regularly and responsibly with the project supervisor. This module supports two key learning pillars: Process Engineering and Sustainable Engineering. As students progress through their programme, they will dive deeper into these areas, starting with the basics at level 4 and moving towards more advanced topics at level 6 and beyond.
