Module code: CPE5005-B
The module aims to deliver a comprehensive understanding of chemical kinetics with material and energy conservation in the design of idealised homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactors operating both in batch and continuous modes and under both isothermal and non-isothermal conditions. The environmental and sustainability aspect of reaction engineering concerning waste and emissions abatement will be addressed. Taking a programme led approach throughout, this module complements other level 5 modules such as Chemistry for Engineers and Thermodynamics and partially Mass Transfer Operations. The module has been designed to encourage a collaborative approach where students work in groups to solve a laboratory task and learning-by-doing.
