To be able to improve cancer treatments and outcomes an understanding of the underlying the biology controlling cancer establishment, growth and spread is required. This module supports the programme by developing learnersí understanding of key aspects of Biomedical Science (PLO11) through the study of cancer biology, specifically the biochemistry, pathology and molecular biology of cancer. The module will also introduce common first line cancer therapeutics and drug development.This module will support those students seeking knowledge to support their employment in medical research or who wish to go on to further study in this field.
