Effective infection treatment requires the correct identification of the disease-causing species so that the appropriate course of treatment can be prescribed. Selection of the wrong treatment course can negatively impact the outcome for a patient.This module supports the programme through applying skills in critical thinking (HCS PLO11), discussion and evaluation of current research (HCS PLO12, BMS PLO11 & 13). This module expands student understanding and provides experience of the application and delivery of a range of core and specialised methods and techniques from across the infection sciences.
