The module will introduce students to modern aspects of international company and corporate governance law. It will cover theoretical, legal and practical issues placing particular emphasis on the role of company and corporate governance law in addressing global challenges such as climate change and sustainability. This module is an important element of the LLM International Corporate Law and Governance programme because it covers core legal doctrines and principles associated with the operation of the modern corporation; part of the LLM International Commercial Law, due to the close connection between corporate governance and a company’s trade and commercial activities; and part of the LLM International Legal Studies as one of the significant modern areas of legal study that students could explore.
