To introduce students to knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to exhibit an ethical and holistic understanding of health and illness within and across United Kingdom populations. To demonstrate an understanding of the principles of philosophy of ethics, biomedical ethics and medical law and governance in the UK. To develop an ability to apply ethics guidance and understand the legal implications with medicine and healthcare practice. Finally, to examine the core values of healthcare workers to treat others with respect and sensitivity to encourage effective teamwork, leadership and professionalism.
