This module will introduce you to the chemistry and physics of polymers. No previous knowledge of polymerscience is assumed but a good background in organic and physical chemistry or chemical engineering isessential. The purpose of the module is to provide students with the structures and principles required to bothsynthesise and understand the properties of polymers. The module will prepare you for either advanced studiesin the area or will give you the essential concepts required to work in this important industrial area.
