Preparing for Research

Module Aims

Advance student knowledge and understanding of the features of quantitative and qualitative research, including ethical considerations, investigation, evaluation, analysis and synthesis in order to equip them with skills to undertake a viable, small, primary research, work based project or systematic review.

Enable students to understand and investigate research theory including, the research question, specification of investigative objectives, study design, data collection methods and analysis.

Equip students with the skills to interpret and critique primary data using recognised tools and frameworks.

Facilitate dissemination of findings to wider health and social care groups.
