Module Aims

This module considers the application of psychological theory, knowledge and principles to a range of real life contexts that benefit individuals and society.

In exploring the tenets of applied psychology you will be introduced to ways in which psychology is used in a range of professional practices and domains, e.g. health, education, the criminal justice sector, etc.

You will consider the pragmatic, ethical and methodological aspects of applying psychological principles and knowledge to real life contexts, as well as exploring a 'cost benefit' dimension in relation to established types of intervention.

In understanding the application of psychology in a variety of sectors, you will be able to appreciate the different professional roles available to those who wish to use their psychology training professionally.
