Module Aims

• To develop your understanding of the role of morality in defining mental health and crime through specific examples such as ‘drapetomania’, ‘homosexuality’ and ‘protest psychosis’. • To look at common themes across these areas such as the construction of ‘dangerousness’ and the treatment of offenders. • To develop your ability to appraise and evaluate methods of research in this field and to work both independently and as part of a team.
