1. To provide students with the skills to produce a coherent and academically well-informed dissertation proposal in advance of their final-year dissertation.
2. To provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for the world of work either in the form of a final year work placement or in preparation for seeking employment on graduation.
3. To develop the ability of students to work increasingly independently and analyse their skills, abilities and resources.
