Module Aims

This module provides an introduction to related disciplines of Forensic Archaeology (field based search, excavation and recovery) and forensic anthropology (laboratory based documentation and evaluation of human skeletal elements). It will introduce the interdisciplinary study of forensic archaeology and its application to the search and recovery of human remains from a range of different depositional environments. It will also introduce the study of forensic anthropology and its applications. It will provide students with an introduction to the knowledge & practical skills used in the identification of victims of crime, mass disasters, and other types of casualties.
