Module Aims

To enhance the student`s knowledge and understanding of issues that are currently impacting, or likely to impact on the medical imaging department so as to optimise the student`s ability to safely and competently contribute to the imaging service.

Outline Syllabus

The syllabus content for this module will evolve to reflect issues that are considered to be of current professional interest. Relevant published research and literary evidence will be critically appraised to determine the likely impact of developments on clinical practice. The module leader will deliver an overview of the aims of this module and facilitate group tutorials to discuss and guide the student`s choice of topic, election of appropriate short course and planned learning. Topics will be related to the work of the radiographer in clinical practice. The student may choose to review and evaluate an aspect of current practice, explore and report on a recent change in practice, or develop and reflect on new clinical skills or services. The role of medical imaging in the patient pathway may also be considered and this should be reflected in the content of the short course.
