Module Aims

The aim of the module is for you to produce of a 13,000 word dissertation reporting a piece of original empirical research, conducted under appropriate supervision. A subordinate aim is that you will consolidate, apply and further develop knowledge and skills in research methods. A final aim is that you acquire in-depth knowledge and understanding of the area of psychology relevant to your chosen research question.

Outline Syllabus

The syllabus will be delivered through a combination of lectures, research skills workshops, and individual supervision. Generic lectures will explain the processes associated with the research project. Relevant workshops will support you in the development of your research and analysis skills. You will be guided in all units of assessments at appropriate stages. It is your responsibility to seek advice from your supervisor if the need arises and to remain in regular contact with your supervisor to provide updates on progress.
