Module Aims

Outline Syllabus

This module examines the evolving nature of terrorism in 21st century. It looks at both ideological discourses as well as tactics used by major terrorist organizations. It covers the politics and strategies of terrorism; the structure and dynamic of terrorist groups/terror group operations; technologies and tactics of terrorist groups; state vs. non-state terror, insurgencies and counterinsurgency strategies. This module critically examines the international terrorist networks such as ISIS and Al Qaeda and the narratives they use to legitimize violent acts.
