To develop an understanding and critical appreciation of the principles and practice of project management.
Models and frameworks for project management (e.g. Classic project life cycle; PRINCE2). Project management and planning scheduling tools & techniques (e.g. stakeholder analysis; logical frameworks; work breakdown structures). Management skills in project situations including: interpersonal communication, team-working, handling conflict and negotiation. Costing and financial control of projects. Monitoring, evaluation and control. Project closure. Critical perspectives on project management. Other project management issues that emerge will be incorporated into the syllabus.
