Module Aims       

The module aims to offer an overview of the general legal framework and different regulatory regimes for the protection of the environment at the international and regional level.

Outline Syllabus   

The module covers a selection of the following:
Introduction to modern environmental law and regulation.
The role of international and regional policies and treaties.
Current environmental issues of major international concern, e.g. nature conservation, climate change, pollution control, and the relationship between trade and the environment.
Emerging issues in environmental law and policy e.g. the interaction between climate and energy policies.
