Module Aims        

To develop the students' knowledge and understanding of the functional organisation of human body relevant to health care.
To examine the structure of cells and cellular function.
To enhance understanding of normal physiology of body systems and selected pathophysiology.

Outline Syllabus   

The internal environment and homeostasis
Cell structure. Cell communication. Diffusion and osmosis.
Control and co-ordination through the nervous and endocrine systems.
Anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system including homeostasis and selected diseases.
The femal reproductive cycles, blood sugar regulation and diabetes, thermoregulation,
Laboratory work: associated with human physiology, health and safety, report writing and presentation of including descriptive analysis.
