To introduce students to the concept of self-directed learning by supervised in-depth study of selected scientific or medical topics
Introduction to self-directed learning and time management; Essay design, planning and construction; Presentation of scientific and medical information for patients. Research and referencing, plagiarism and good academic practice.
Each student will work under the supervision of an SSO supervisor on chosen topics from a wide range of scientific and medical areas.
Structured tutorials led by the module leader will support the specialist supervisors.
