This module introduces you to some of the current issues in accounting and finance that will enable you to understand various financial accounting and finance theories and develop a deeper understanding of selected contemporary issues.
Introduction to accounting and finance theories & theoretical framework, normative and positive theories of systems oriented theories, the financial reporting environment, and regulation of financial accounting, capital markets research, measurement issues, corporate governance and accountability, contemporary issues in corporate reporting such as social and environmental reporting and a selection of contemporary finance topics.
