Introduction to Macroeconomics

Module Aims       

To examine the main principles of macroeconomic theory and to illustrate the application of theory to contemporary economic issues. The module introduces aspects related to the circular flow of income, inflation, unemployment, aggregate demand and supply and economic growth. The national economy is also analysed in a global environment exploring issues like international trade and the effectiveness of government policies.

Outline Syllabus   

Indicative macroeconomics content includes: The circular flow of income; The Keynesian model of income determination; The IS/LM model; The AS/AD model; Fiscal policy; Monetary policy; Balance of payments and exchange rates.
