During the pandemic, we adapted our teaching methods to meet the needs of our students and the COVID-19 guidance, by developing a number of innovative new blended and distance learning programmes.

Postgraduate research
As a research student at Bradford, you'll help create new knowledge for the benefit of society.
Prospective PhD students have the choice to apply for one of our existing projects, or you can submit your own research proposal if there’s a challenge that particularly interests you.

Financial support
It's never been easier to fund your postgraduate studies.
There are a number of options available to help you pay for your studies and living costs:
- Postgraduate loans - the government offers loans of up to £11,570 for Master's students and £27,265 for doctoral research students
- Scholarships and bursaries - the University of Bradford awards scholarships for a number of criteria, such as academic excellence, the country you are from, your personal circumstances, and for students of particular courses.
- Alumni discounts - our Alumni Discount Scheme is available to all Bradford graduates
- Redundancy discount - we're offering a 20% tuition fee discount for new Master's students who have been made redundant during the pandemic

Campus and facilities
Our City Campus has the kind of community atmosphere you won't find anywhere else. It's a welcoming place where great things happen.
City Campus is home to all four of our teaching faculties, as well as The Green student accommodation village, a sports and fitness centre, Student Central, our library, a theatre, and a range of shops and cafes.
A five-minute walk away we have a state-of-the-art sports park and nursery.
We're also just a 10-minute walk from Bradford city centre - home to endless shops, bars, restaurants, museums and parks.

Safety at your fingertips
Keeping students safe at the University of Bradford is always our top priority. The SafeZone app is a great way to have peace of mind when you’re studying or having fun on campus.
The SafeZone app is free to download, easy to use and has lots of really useful features:
- Quickly and discretely send a location-based alert to our security team whenever you need an immediate emergency response, first aid or any other general assistance
- Keep up to date through notifications sent directly to your phone if there is an incident on campus
- ‘Check in’ any time of day to tell us where you are on campus 24/7

Returning to education
Postgraduate study attracts a diverse range of students, including many who are returning to education after a lengthy break.
Returning to education after several years away can be daunting. Prospective adult learners may wonder how they will settle back into the routine of studying, juggle studies with a busy family life, and maintain an income while studying.
We asked some of our current students about their experience of returning to education to study a postgraduate degree.

Accommodation
The on-campus student village, The Green, is right at the centre of student life here at Bradford.
Located right at the heart of campus, you're within a five-minute walk of your lectures, the library, the gym, and the Students' Union.
Accommodation options in The Green include six-bedroom apartments and 12-bedroom townhouses, both of which are available to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Student life
The friendly, diverse and inclusive atmosphere is what makes Bradford so special.
There's always something to get involved in - it's easy to learn new skills, explore new interests and make new friends.
On campus, you can join societies and sports clubs, and socialise in Student Central or in one of our outdoor green spaces. We also have our own theatre, allotments and a community of honeybees.
Off campus, you can enjoy the vibrant shopping and nightlife the city of Bradford has to offer. We're also a short drive or ride on public transport from the picturesque towns of Howarth, Ilkley, Saltaire and Hebden Bridge - ideal for a day out exploring, hiking or shopping. The cities of Manchester and Leeds are also easily accessible by train or bus.
