COVID-19 information

Our staff, student and visitor safety is at the forefront of our on-campus Open Day planning. Here is how we are keeping everyone safe:

  • All attendees are asked to pre-book a place. This helps us limit the capacity of people on campus at any one time. All guests can attend any time between the start and end time of the open day – just remember to check the schedule to ensure you don’t miss those all-important course and information sessions.
  • In line with Government guidance, we will be encouraging the wearing of face coverings when inside University buildings.
  • We will operate an enhanced cleaning regime which will include regular cleaning of all high traffic areas and touchpoints throughout the event. This includes areas such as toilets, door handles and lift buttons.
  • We will be encouraging social distancing in the busiest areas on campus, for example, queues for entry and for campus tours.
  • Where required, we will operate designated queuing and one way systems.
  • We encourage regular use of hand sanitising stations which are placed around the University campus.

To help us keep everyone safe, we ask the following of our open day guests:

  • Ensure you have booked your slot in advance.
  • Adhere to any one way or queuing systems while visiting the University.
  • We encourage the wearing of face coverings within the University buildings in line with Government guidance. We do understand that there may be some circumstances where people may not be able to wear a face covering and will be mindful and respectful of such circumstances.
  • We encourage visitors to campus to undertake a lateral flow test using a self-testing kit, and confirm a negative result before travelling to campus. Information on obtaining lateral flow tests can be found on the Government Website.
  • Hygiene is key – we ask all visitors to make use of the hand sanitising stations on arrival and throughout their visit. Hands should also be washed regularly.

Do not attend campus if:

  • You are experiencing any symptoms of Coronavirus (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste).
  • You have tested positive for Coronavirus within the last 10 days.
  • You are awaiting the results from a Coronavirus test.
  • You have been told by NHS Test and Trace that you need to isolate.
  • You have travelled back from a country requiring isolation on return. Further details of the requirements and exempt countries can be found on the Government Website.

Further details and government recommendations regarding self-isolating can be found on the NHS website.
