Professor Wilson is Director of Bradford UNESCO City of Film which also incorporates the Bradford Film Office which is situated on campus at the University of Bradford. He and his team promote and nurture Bradford’s long film heritage both at UK events and around the world, via the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
He is an accredited expert advisor to the UK Commission for UNESCO on the development of Creative Cities and appointed researcher at the Qingdao Film Academy.
Having a working Film Office on campus is a huge benefit to students studying TV and filmmaking, many of whom have gained paid experience on major shows and movies as a result of the connection.
This relationship is particularly important in the run-up to Bradford City of Culture 2025.
