Muslim Railway Heritage runs from 13 May to 12 June and examines contributions to the rail industry in the UK, alongside the history of the Hejaz Railway, widely regarded as the world’s first Muslim railway and a historic route connecting the holy cities of Medina and Mecca.

The exhibition draws on extensive archival research and fieldwork to provide a detailed account of Muslim rail history. It has been developed through a partnership between Muslims in Rail, the University of Bradford and the Institute of Heritage Sciences (INCIPIT) within the Spanish National Research Council.

Highlights include a specially commissioned scale model of a Mosque Wagon, originally designed and built in Istanbul.

Members of the public can register to attend via Eventbrite.
