Students share views on Autumn Budget live on BBC Breakfast
A group of University of Bradford students shared their views ahead of the Autumn Budget on live national television.
Eve McCallum, Minahal Faisal and Jiya Mahmood all appeared on a special edition of BBC Breakfast, partly held at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford on Wednesday 26 November.
The student panel gave their views as part of a studio audience for the BBC One programme, ahead of Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ Budget announcement, held that afternoon.
The students talked about issues including increases in tuition fees, being a University of Bradford student ambassador, part-time working for students, minimum wage rises and the pressures of the cost of commuting and the cost of living.

They appeared on-screen with Kate Nicholls OBE, CEO of UKHospitality. The three students also appeared live on the BBC News Channel at just after 9.50am.
'Interesting experience'
Eve, 21, a third year Law student, said: “It was an interesting and unique experience [to be on live TV]. It was something I’m glad I said yes to, and we got our points across.”
Minahal, 20, a second year Biomedical Science student, said: “There were a good range of ages of people who took part in the programme, which was really good.”
Jiya, 23, a third year Forensic Science student, said it was an enjoyable experience to be interviewed on live TV.
