Based entirely in Jiangsu Province, the Joint College delivers dual-award degrees and has been formally approved by China’s Ministry of Education. It blends British innovation with Chinese industrial ambition, preparing students to lead in advanced manufacturing through world-class teaching and cross-cultural exchange.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon said: “Widening access to lifelong learners is a key priority in our new 10-year strategy. This partnership is a strong statement of our global ambition and our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality education with impact — wherever our students are.”

Claire Pryke, Associate Director for Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions, added: “This is a powerful signal of global confidence in Bradford’s academic vision.”

President Liu Qiaoquan of Yangzhou University described the student intake as: “A testament to the strength and promise of Sino-foreign educational collaboration.”

The partnership was formally launched in June, and on 26 September, a Bradford delegation visited Yangzhou to celebrate the opening of the college and unveil new facilities, including:

  • The Joint College of Advanced Manufacturing
  • The Faculty and Student Service Centre
  • The Cross-Cultural Communication Centre
