Delivered by Roche AV Pro, the ambitious upgrade tackled years of underinvestment across the campus estate, replacing outdated systems with cutting-edge technology.

The project has been named a finalist in the AV Awards 2025 - Education Project of the Year and has already won Hikvision’s Smart Classroom Pioneer Award 2025.

 The transformation includes:

A flagship lecture theatre featuring a 10m-wide 4K LED wall – the largest ever installed by Roche AV.

  • A doubling of hybrid meeting spaces across campus.
  • Enhanced AV facilities for midwifery, physiotherapy and other health disciplines.
  • Integration of Extron NAV AV-over-IP, WolfVision Cynap, and Clevertouch systems for seamless collaboration. Russ Hind, Head of IT Service Delivery, said: “This project has completely changed how we teach, collaborate and connect. It’s not just about tech, it’s about creating spaces that inspire.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon added: “Students rightly expect to interact with the latest technology. This investment reflects our commitment to delivering an outstanding learning experience.”

The AV overhaul forms part of a wider multi-year investment in campus infrastructure, including upgrades to Student Central and the J B Priestley Library.
