'You can achieve anything' Bradford Vice-Chancellor tells new students at Central South University, China
University of Bradford Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Cantor has welcomed over 15,000 students to the new term at Central South University (CSU) in Changsha, China.
Professor Cantor had earlier given a speech on multicomponent and high-entropy alloys to over 200 academic staff and students from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the university.
Addressing the new students, Professor Cantor told them: “As you work and learn at this great University, you will in a few years reach your graduation, and you will then leave, better prepared to develop your own lives, better prepared to help others, and better prepared to achieve things in society. As you begin this great adventure, my only advice to you is this: You can achieve anything you want. Don’t undervalue yourself. Don’t underestimate your ability to make things happen.”
Professor Cantor met CSU President Tian Hongqi, an expert in railway transport engineering technology, and discussed the World Technology Universities Network, as well as other potential ways of working together in the future.
