PECB signs a partnership agreement with the University of Bradford

Published:

The University of Bradford is the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board's (PECB) first University partner in the UK.

The University will deliver ISO 27001 Lead Implementer Courses to students in the UK. The course and modules will teach the fundamental skills of how to prepare and support an organization in the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and will also provide a comprehensive cybersecurity defense strategy.

“We are very excited about working with the University of Bradford. We have always welcomed partnership opportunities with such institutions that are consistent with and appropriate to our mission,” said Eric Lachapelle, CEO of PECB.

He added that University of Bradford has proved a great success in the field of Education. “Both PECB and the University of Bradford have proved a great success in Education Sectors, and that is a very promising sign for both parties. The past years have witnessed tremendous growth in our partnership program, and initiatives aimed specifically at developing and sustaining intentional partnerships have been an important factor to our success. We both have great teams of professionals, and resources that will be a great support to this partnership,” concluded Mr. Lachapelle.

“We are delighted to formally announce our partnership with PECB” said Dr. Andrea Cullen, programme leader for the MSc Cyber Security at the University of Bradford “and tremendously excited and proud to be the first University in the world to establish such a partnership.

“The inclusion of the ISO27001 Lead Implementer qualification as part of our current MSc Cyber Security provides us with a fantastic opportunity to prepare our students for work in industry. Ultimately this additional qualification not only makes graduates extremely employable but also helps our staff to act as practitioners so that they can bring real life experience into the classroom. However, our partnership with PECB is much more than this one MSc programme.

“We plan to maximize our partnership to grow our provision and draw on the expertise and strength of colleagues in both organisations. Working closely with industry partners such as PECB is extremely important to us here at the University and this particular partnership offers some exciting and unique opportunities.”
