Five University of Bradford graduates won the Entertainment Award at the Royal Television Society (RTS), Yorkshire Centre Student Television Awards last night for work they completed whilst studying.

Films submitted by students were judged by a panel of industry professionals, and then presented at a ceremony held at York Racecourse which was hosted by ITV Yorkshire’s Victoria Whittam.
The student production ‘Telebox’ was been announced as the winner of the 2013 RTS Yorkshire Centre Award for the best Entertainment film. The judges felt that the comedy drama that had a strong script, some excellent camera work and direction, and high entertainment value.
Top Comedian Lucy Beaumont presented the award to the students who worked on ‘Telebox’. The production team consisted of: Elliot Nelson, Alex Rudys, Nichola Emsley, Simeon Petkov and Gary Quan. The film was created and entered into the competition while they were all studying at the University and they graduated last summer.
Head of the University of Bradford’s Media School, Ali Rashid, said: “Congratulation to our media graduates for winning the RTS Entertainment Yorkshire Student Award 2013 with their "Telebox" film. This original comedy drama was conceived, scripted and produced with 12 weeks.
“The RTS Awards are the gold standard of achievement in the television community so we are extremely proud that our students have received such acclaim.”
