8 October 13
The University of Bradford will be open its doors, this Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October, to give thousands of prospective students and their families the chance to experience university life first hand.
Expert academics and key staff from all of the University’s undergraduate Schools and departments will be hosting a full mix of interactive demonstrations, informal drop-in sessions, live lectures and information events.
Visitors with an interest in Biomedical Science will take a tour of the new Simulation Suite, while those wishing to study Chemical Engineering get access to our new £1m multidisciplinary engineering lab and CAD multi-purpose design suite. Peace Studies at Bradford is the world’s largest university centre for the study of peace and conflict, and during the Open Days there will be a unique opportunity to respond to an International Crisis: a United Nations simulation.
The day will also include the opportunity to hear information talks relating to all aspects of higher education such as fees and finance, career development and employability, along with specific sessions on Welcome to Bradford and Writing your UCAS Personal Statement.
Student ambassadors will be on hand to help visitors find their way around the University and will lead tours around our campuses which have recently benefited from £120m of investment including: award-winning campus accommodation, innovative buildings and excellent fitness facilities.
Open Day visitors can also take time to hear about our programme of fun activity like social events, trips abroad, entertainment and pop into our Students’ Union and learn all about student life at Bradford.
Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Development, Mark Garratt, said: “There is no substitute for coming along to see the University for yourself and personally experiencing all that it has to offer.
“Open days like Bradford’s are the perfect opportunity for those thinking about going to university to find out about the university and get their first feel of campus life, meet our students and staff, and see exactly what we have to offer.”
Anyone wishing to attend the open day should come to the registration desk inside the University’s Richmond Building on the main campus. Free car parking is available. For more information call 0800 073 1225 or visit www.bradford.ac.uk/openday
