Leading female Inventor to meet Women Engineering University students

Margaret Wood MBE, entrepreneur, innovator and MD of a successful engineering company will meet Engineering, Design and Technology students at the University of Bradford on Saturday 16 April 2011 at a special seminar organised by FAIRER (Females Actively Involved in Rewarding Engineering Roles) the University's Women's Engineering Society.
Margaret Wood MBE has been invited to the University to give an insight into her work as a professional engineer and business woman to female engineering students at the University. Among her successes, Margaret has been named the second best female inventor in the country with an innovative glazing system. Her company's products, ICW UK Ltd, are commissioned worldwide.
Following a presentation by Margaret, students, from FAIRER (Females Actively Involved in Rewarding Engineering Roles), will be invited to ask Margaret questions and find out more about her professional life and gain useful advice for their own career paths.
Dean of the School of Engineering, Design and Technology, Professor Alastair Wood, said: "We are delighted that Margaret has agreed to meet our students at the University as she is an ideal role model for them and is committed to supporting female entrepreneurship. She will hopefully inspire some of our women engineering, design & technology students to follow in her footsteps and become leading entrepreneurs of the future."
Margaret Wood said: "Socially and economically the role of the modern woman has changed dramatically. Choice of career is giving women the opportunity to emerge as leader in the traditional male dominated environments and be successful."
