Mock the Week's Russell Howard will headline a comedy extravaganza organised by the University of Bradford Students' Union on Saturday 14 August to help raise funds for its student radio station RamAir.

RamAir will celebrate its 30th anniversary in October, just one month after it hopes to move into new studios in the new Students' Union building.  In order to complete the move the student radio station are in the middle of raising £40,000 to secure their new home and state-of-the-art equipment to go into it.

The comedy night next month is just one of the many comedy events the Students' Union have organised showcasing up and coming comedians such as Alun Cochrane, Tom State and Chris Ramsey.

The event will be headlined by Russell Howard, as seen on hit BBC2 show 'Mock The Week' and his own BBC3 show 'Russell Howard's Good News'.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 14 July.

The two-hour comedy event will also feature Edward Gamble, from the Peacock and Gamble Podcast, Steve Hall, as seen on BBC3 show 'We Are Klang', and Dan Atkinson, who has been the warm-up for many hit shows including 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks'.

Speaking about the event, Philip Lickley, Media and Marketing Co-ordinator at the Students' Union, said: "There's a very exciting buzz around the Students' Union about this comedy night.  We're really looking forward to Russell making us all laugh.

"We're all hoping for a ticket sell-out to raise money for the new student radio station studio. We've raised some money for the new studio but we've a long way to go yet to ensure RamAir gets the new studios as part of the new students' union development.

RamAid, the appeal to raise money for RamAir, is regularly looking for sponsorship money to help reach its total. For more information on the appeal please e-mail ubu-mmc@bradford.ac.uk

The University of Bradford Students' Union is based on campus and provides students with entertainment, opportunities to join sports, societies and media areas, plus advice services and social, bar and shop facilities.
