The School of Lifelong Education and Development (SLED) at the University of Bradford will be offering Adult Education Classes in Creative Writing and Yorkshire History, in Skipton and Ilkley.

The courses will start in March and can be taken simply for interest or to provide a pathway to an award course at the University. There will be opportunities for successful students who wish to progress in this direction, even if they have not already gained traditional qualifications.

There will also be the chance to study at a range of day schools taking place on Saturdays at the University. These normally last the whole day and offer a range of subjects in detail.

Head of Academic Programmes, SLED, Dr George Sheeran said: "Adult education classes generally have declined over the years but I feel that it is important to maintain this provision and give the opportunity for all members of the community to become involved in lifelong learning, whether this is for personal satisfaction or as the start of a programme of study."

For more information call the School of Lifelong Education and Development on 01274 233210 or visit www.bradford.ac.uk/sled, or alternatively e-mail g.sheeran3@bradford.ac.uk

SLED will be hosting two information sessions for people interested in the adult education classes.
