The University of Bradford will be hosting the prestigious Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarships reception, on Wednesday, 5 February 2009, to mark the success of students being awarded scholarships to study at the Universities of Bradford, Leeds and Manchester.

For almost 20 years, the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarships have provided valuable learning opportunities to students from the developing world, so they can contribute to development and progress in their own countries.

The event will give the opportunity for scholars, delegates and staff to discuss the recent work of the World Bank and for Mr Kamal Braham, the Scholarships Administrator of the World Bank Institute, a chance to receive feedback from students about their courses.

This year nine scholars, from developing countries, have the opportunity to study at the University of Bradford on a range of courses including Peace Studies, Leadership Management and Change and Project Planning/Development.

Director of the International Office, Dr Haydn Bartlett, said: "We are delighted to host this event on behalf of the World Bank and to welcome delegates from the Universities of Leeds and Manchester. We have been welcoming Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarships scholars onto a range of courses at the University of Bradford for many years."
