A world of colour at University's Gallery II
16 April 09
Gallery II at the University of Bradford invites visitors to be immersed in 'A World of Colour' with their current exhibition by two Pakistani artists, Wahab Jaffer and Moeen Faruqi.
A World of Colour, will run from Friday 17 April 2009, to Friday 15 May 2009 and will follow on from the success of Gallery II's previous high-profile international exhibitions, 'The Influence of Heritage' and 'Sacred Marks Sacred Spaces'. The exhibition continues the gallery's commitment to showcasing art from around the globe.'
A World of Colour is curated by the well known art critic Marjorie Husain who has been a prominent figure in Pakistan's art circles for over two decades.
Marjorie Husain said: "Moeen Faruqi's work is rich in metaphor. Through his paintings, he leads the audience in raising questions and forming opinions of the subjects' daily lives.
"Jaffer's canvases create a dazzling, mood enhancing, visual experience that takes the observer floating free beyond the minutia of day-to-day life. These are visual sirens, beckoning the viewer to enter a tempting world of fantasy".
