Testimony of a Holocaust Survivor
Location: Norcroft Centre
Date and Time:
Wed 20 Apr 2016, 17:00 - 18:30
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Staff and students will have the opportunity to hear testimony from Holocaust survivor, Marc Schatzberger as part of a visit organised in conjunction with the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET).
The talk aims to impart the history of the Holocaust and ensure that we honour the memory of those whose lives were lost and take forward the lessons taught by those who survived.
The testimony will be followed by a question and answer session to better understand the nature of the Holocaust and to explore its lessons in more depth. The visit is part of the Holocaust Educational Trust’s extensive all year round Outreach Programme.
The Holocaust Educational Trust aims to educate and engage at institutions across the UK, from all communities about the Holocaust and there can be no better way than through the first-hand testimony of a survivor. Marc Schatzberger’s story is one of tremendous courage during horrific circumstances and by hearing his testimony, students will have the opportunity to learn where prejudice and racism can ultimately lead.
