Physical Wellbeing

We all know about the importance and benefits of looking after our physical wellbeing:

Better sleep

Healthy weight

Resilience to stress

Maintain good physical health

Improved quality of life

How easy it is to do this will depend on many factors, including the cards that life has dealt us and the impact this has on our ability to notice and respond to our physical health needs.

Our specialists’ top tips

  • Exercise – keeps our body fit and healthy which positively effects our mental and emotional health.
  • Diet – food is our body’s fuel.  A healthy, balanced diet enables our body to work at its best.  Food can also be a great way to socialise and tastes great too!
  • Sleep -  is our magic superpower!  - it helps us to concentrate, process information, make good decisions, and regulate our emotions and physical functions.
  • Physical Health - If we have any existing health needs, especially if you require regular treatment or medication, it is important to know how to continue receiving these at university.

Find something that works for you - everyone is different so do what you know works best for you.

What do our students say?

Walking helps me to clear my mindset, meet new people, and divert my mind from studies. There are physical benefits too, such as burning calories, building stamina, stay healthier and the best part is, it's free!

There are so many nice places within walking distance from the University. Plant One On Me, Bread + Roses, the City Park, The Cake 'Ole. I would recommend visiting these places and exercising by exploring!
