Idrisa Kamara

Academic Background: BA in Sociology.

Idrisa graduated from Calvary Assembly of God Mission High School in Paynesville, Monrovia, Montserrado CO. in June 2005, and from the University of Liberia with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and Humanities in December 2015.

In November 2006, Idrisa started his first professional work as a Supervisor for the Music department at the Women and Children Rehabilitation Center (WOCHIRRC), lower Margibi Co. Liberia.  During his tenure he underwent several trainings organized by WOCHIRRC e.g. trauma counselling, Organizational skills, effective communication, effective leadership etc. Since then Idrisa has been working for several organizations, both Government, Non-government, and the private sector. His efforts towards Liberia’s peace and development being a post-war country has seen him being recognized and awarded by institutions, organizations and churches in Liberia.

Idrisa has been in his current position as Program Manager at EDUCARE Libria since April 2017. He leads an immediate twenty-person team and indirectly supervises 1160 field staff across Liberia. He is also responsible for all EDUCARE Liberia Peacebuilding and Gender programs. As Program Manager, he has developed EDUCARE Liberia's current peacebuilding manual that has been adopted and currently being used in the field by IOM (nothing for us, without us project) and The Extractive Industries for Sustainable Development (EISD) project. In October 2017, he manned a High-Level County Dialogue that conveyed Government officials, current Lawmakers, Senators, Concessions Companies and Duty bearers and conducted a High-Level National Dialogue in May 2019.
