Recruiting our students and graduates

Through their courses our students and graduates combine academic achievement with a real understanding of the skills and knowledge that your business needs.

Our undergraduates and graduates are enthusiastic, professional and can help you to achieve your organisation's goals.

Their great ideas, creative approaches, up-to-date knowledge and workplace ready skills are what attracts employers to come and see us time after time.

Our students are a talented bunch. They are studying a variety of undergraduate courses such as a more generalist BSc in business or management or specialising in accounting and finance, marketing, human resources, or an LLB in law.

A number of professional accountancy bodies give exemptions for examinations taken at different stages of their professional qualification, including the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Our postgraduates are studying for an MBA, or one of our MSc courses in finance, marketing, human resources, international business or conducting research for their PhD or DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration)

There are a number of different ways you can tap into this talent:

Advertising your vacancy

We can advertise any vacancy and whether its part time, full time, permanent or temporary this is all free of charge.

We are always on the lookout for internship opportunities, voluntary opportunities, temporary term time jobs and placements.

Don’t feel that your vacancy has to be at graduate level for us to advertise it - students are keen to hear about any jobs.

Placement vacancies are accepted year round, so please send any opportunities our way or get in touch to discuss this further.

Vacancies can be advertised to students on particular courses, or they can be distributed widely across the university, it is up to you.

We can also advertise opportunities to alumni, so this is also an excellent place to advertise your vacancy takes you directly to the employer’s registration page so that you can input details of your vacancies quickly and efficiently.

Promoting your vacancies

We understand there is nothing worse that sending out a vacancy and then getting little or no response to it.

So once you have advertised your vacancy we can make sure that it goes to all the right people and that it gets their attention.

In term-time we do a weekly newsletter targeted to undergraduates and postgraduates, we have a Facebook page and send out regular tweets from our twitter account.

We also advertise vacancies internally via notice boards and regular emails.

Careers fair

If you want to promote your business and the opportunities on offer, having a stand at the careers fair is an ideal way to get noticed.

The University currently organises two annual Careers Fairs, one in November aimed at graduate recruitment and one in March which focuses more on local opportunities.

These careers fairs usually attract over 600 students per event and are designed to promote your business and your opportunities to students and graduates in a cost effective way.
